Qualifying Tournament for the Continental SAMBO Championship Held in the Republic of Korea

The Korea SAMBO Federation held a qualifying tournament to form the national team that will compete in the Asia and Oceania SAMBO Championships. Medals were contested in 18 weight categories in Sport and Combat SAMBO at the competition, which took place on March 2 at the Korean SAMBO Center.

The winners of the tournament have been included in the extended roster for the national team. Now, they must prove their readiness during training camps planned as part of their preparation for the continental championship.

"We have selected excellent athletes, and now it is their turn to demonstrate their skills on the international stage. The national federation will provide them with systematic support so they can compete in the best possible conditions," said Mun Seongcheon, President of the Korea SAMBO Federation.

Last year, Korean SAMBO athletes achieved their best-ever results at the Asia and Oceania SAMBO Championships, held in Macau. In 2024, they won two silver and three bronze medals. Now, the national federation is focusing on these achievements as it prepares for the upcoming Asia and Oceania Championships, which will take place in April in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
